Summer campaign
Bring two children up to 11 years old for 0 SEK per paying traveler during the period May 27 - August 18, 2024!
For the second year in a row, we are temporarily raising the age limit for accompanying children from 6 to 11 years. The campaign is only valid for single tickets purchased at mälartåg.se or in the Mälartåg app.
Please note that the campaign does not include Movingo period tickets or tickets purchased through other channels such as SJ, as the regular age limit of 6 years applies.
For more than two accompanying children per paying traveler, a discounted price is offered for youths/students, regardless of where the ticket is purchased.
Travelling on your own
Children up to the age of 6 are not allowed to travel alone on our trains. Legal guardians of older children can judge for themselves whether the child is able to travel on their own. Children traveling without the company of an adult must be able to take responsibility for themselves during the journey, even in the event of a traffic disruption.
Accompanying Children
Between May 27 and August 18, if you've purchased a single ticket through our channels, you can bring up to two children up to 11 years old for free. After the campaign period, we return to our regular offer, where you can always bring up to two children up to and including 6 years old per paying traveler when traveling with Mälartåg.
When traveling with single tickets purchased through external channels or with the Movingo period ticket, the regular age limit of two children up to and including 6 years old applies.
For more than two accompanying children per paying traveler, they travel at a discounted rate (youth/student), regardless of where you purchased your ticket.

Here, you can find space to place strollers, larger luggage, as well as a large restroom with a changing table and a smaller restroom.
Prams
Prams are to be placed in the Flex coach. If this space is already full, you can place the pram if there is room in the vestibule in the same coach. In other carriages, there is room for a folded pram under the luggage racks on the lower floors. At the request of on board personel the pram should be folded and placed at designated location.
